You definately need a larger power pack. 2 amps will do for a single engine, 5 amps or more for multiple engines esp those with 4 motors like Aristo SD-45 and dash 9.

Since 5 switches and 2 control boxes do not work, then perhaps the transformer is bad.

The LGB 1201 2 wire EPL drives are DC, the 5175 has diodes to send the 2 different polarities to the drive.

The analog sound versions arre a little higher and the digital sound ones are much higher.
