Hey all,
I just registered for this site and am a long time LGB collector. I figured I would post some knowledge I have for the frustrated collectors in the USA on new LGB items that we all are awaiting to see actually show up. If you don't know our dear old friend Wolfgang of LGB tried to cut his costs and probably quality and moved the molds to China shortly before taking the LGB company into bankruptcy and being under criminal investigation. Now LGB is back up and producing through the long time train manufacture Marklin! Marklin already has many of it's products in the USA through Walthers distributors therefore LGB will be going through the same distributor instead of the prior LGB of America company. If you visit http://www.walthers.com and go into advanced search. Under manufacture enter the number (426) which is the code for LGB. There will list all current items LGB is still producing and you can see there status. "In Transit" being that the items are on boat from Europe. If you see something in stock from Walthers there is a good chance a faithful LGB retailer near you may have what you need in stock. Do note however the prices you see on walthers will be substantially higher if you are not a retailer and are not numbers to go by. Hope this helps anyone wondering when that darn piece of LGB will finally come. You wait shouldn't be much longer !You new blogger, - Andrew |
